DESCRIPTION:A fun and supportive 6 week puppy mantrailing course designed to introduce young dogs and their handlers to the foundations of trailing in a positive\, confidence-building way. \nThis course is ideal for puppies who are ready to begin learning scentwork with each week carefully planned to build skills step by step. We will focus on calm foundations\, confidence\, scent understanding and clear communication\, giving both puppy and handler the best possible start in their mantrailing journey. \nOver the 6 weeks we will cover: \nWeek 1 – Settle\, Equipment & Overview\nHelping puppies settle into the environment\, introducing equipment\, correct harness fitting\, long line handling\, practice exercises and a full course overview. \nWeek 2 – Scent Inventory & Scent Targeting\nIntroducing scent inventory and scent targeting exercises to help puppies begin to understand and focus on the correct odour source. \nWeek 3 – Indication\nBuilding a clear indication and helping puppies learn how to communicate when they have found their target. \nWeek 4 – Decoys\nIntroducing decoys and developing motivation\, confidence and understanding of the search game. \nWeek 5 – Split Trails & Back trails\nWorking simple split trails to build problem solving\, confidence and decision making skills. \nWeek 6 – Final Trails & Certificates\nBringing everything together with practical exercises\, learning what a progression session would be like and a celebration of progress with certificates at the end of the course. \nThis course is designed to be puppy-friendly\, engaging and supportive\, giving handlers the knowledge they need while allowing puppies to learn at their own pace\, with their physical and mental development a priority. \nA lovely way to build confidence\, teamwork and scenting skills together.
